I met Cheri Gregory listening to the Grit ‘n’ Grace Girls Podcast. Later, I joined the Grit ‘n’ Grace intern team and witnessed Cheri’s enthusiasm for women recognizing how much God cherishes them. She encourages women to discover their strengths and use those strengths to bless others. All of this is evident in her books. She has co-authored many books and coaches women to live their one life well.
Cheri has many books on the topic of living your one life well including ” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>You Don’t Have to Try So Hard, and her newest one, Grit ‘n’ Grace Girls Podcast episodes. The first section of the book covers the ways in which most women take on extra responsibility and hang on to negative events in the past and encourages them to let go of who they are not. The second section shares ways that it is okay to love yourself and express who you are to the world without it being considered bragging or boasting. The last section celebrates living a full life and being sensitive to direction from God. A study guide will be released soon for use in group study. So many of the ideas in the book are simple and effective in freeing women to be themselves.
Her latest books are timely reminders of the power of relying on Christ’s words, “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:30) and “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (II Timothy 1:7) You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. (Galatians 5:13)

It’s been so long since I discovered this series that I forget how I discovered it. The good news, for you, is that the author, Debbie Viguie, is a prolific writer and is about to release the last book in the Psalm 23 Mystery series. Book 23 is on preorder and is title Forever. The latest book Amazon currently has is book 17. The first book is The Lord is My Shepherd. Christianbook has the first two books together in one ebook. The secret to gaining access to the preorder books is to join her Facebook fan group. Debbie posts often in the fan group. This entertaining saga is a character-driven murder mystery series. In the first book, Cindy’s church is getting ready to celebrate Easter. Cindy Preston is a secretary at First Shepard Church. She stumbles across a dead man’s body in the sanctuary. Jeremiah Silverman is a rabbi that works at a Jewish Temple next door. Jeremiah has a mysterious past that is gradually revealed as the series picks up steam. Debbie weaves information about Passover celebrations and Jewish traditions in the background, but the story centers around how Cindy and Jeremiah meet and work together to solve mysteries they discover in their hometown. Detective Mark Walters tries, unsuccessfully, to convince Cindy and Jeremiah to let him handle the investigation. Once engrossed in the story, it feels like you’re watching a movie instead of reading a book. (The book isn’t for the squeamish, but it’s not graphic.) Please chime in and comment below if you are familiar with the series.
